Waystone’s Family Support staff work diligently to ensure that each of the families we serve receives the support and services needed to succeed. We are proud to be a state-designated Family Support Center for the Merrimack Valley.

Family Support services include:

  • Information and referral services identify local resources and service options available to families, as well as information about state-funded services for which families may be eligible (MassHealth, etc.). Families also receive guidance on how to navigate the service system, particularly as their children transition from school-based services to community-based programs for young adults.
  • Training and workshops are offered to youth and families on topics such as Social Security, Education plans and services, advocacy, ESL, and behavior management techniques.
  • Networking events and opportunities bring together caregivers who share common challenges in supporting family members in the hope of creating a broader, natural support system amongst families.
  • Therapeutic programs such as group-based art therapy, music therapy, and social skill development provide small group instruction led by a qualified professional to increase social skills and personal expression.
  • Recreation activities are also offered and are open to all enrolled families.
