Day Services promotes independence and full immersion in the community for people with disabilities and brain injuries. The programs are goal-oriented and focus on life and employment skills. Clinical interventions such as nursing, physical and occupational therapy, speech/language therapy, and behavioral support are available, if needed, in combination with our daily activities.

Participants of this program must be eligible under the DDS guidelines and be currently enrolled in a Waystone Service area. For more information, see our brochure.

Day Habilitation

Day Habilitation services are available for individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability or an acquired brain injury. Day Habilitation services are designed for individuals with an interest in social and community activities, an identified clinical or medical need, or a desire to increase their independence. On-site and community activities assist people to develop various skills through a rotating schedule of activities.

Community-Based Day Supports (CBDS) & DDS Supported Employment

The Community-Based Day Supports program (CBDS) provides a wide array of educational, recreational, and vocational opportunities for individuals to build their community membership, social, interpersonal, and vocational skills through both in-house and community-based activities.  Employment skills may also be developed through job training in-house, volunteer opportunities, or paid opportunities with community businesses, with the ultimate goal of individuals achieving their greatest level of independence.

Transition-Age Vocational Skill Training (Pre-ETS)

Medical Model Homes

Our Pre-Employment Transitional Supports (Pre-ETS) program is for students who are enrolled in high school and have a disability or established IEP or 504 plan. The goal of Pre-ETS is to help students explore, increase awareness, and prepare for post-secondary employment and education options through 5 core services – Job Exploration Counseling, Workplace Readiness Training, Work-based Learning Experiences, Counseling on Post-secondary Education or Training, and Self-Advocacy and Peer Mentoring.

Veterans Employment (Waypoint Careers)

Waystone’s Veterans Employment Program, now known as Waypoint Careers, has been serving Veterans in the northeast region of Massachusetts since 2016.  Waystone works closely with local Veterans Service Officers and organizations to obtain referrals and find resources for those we serve.  Waystone has created several successful partnerships with local employers and continues to create new collaborations to meet the continuing needs of Veterans.

Our supported employment programs are for individuals referred to us by MRC. During the employment process, we will work with people in three stages; skills assessment/job exploration, job development, and post-employment support.
